Angels to watch over me

We never know when its our time to go ~ I am grateful to my guardian angels for saving me August 9, 2008 ~ It could have turned out so very differently. To fall from a 25 feet height to the pavement below and survive is a miracle in itself! I lost my Grandma Doris when I was 10 years old and I always said she was my guardian angel... My Grampa Ren joined her in heaven a few years ago and I know they must have been together that night! I started praying as soon as I realized I lost my balance and was falling ~ I had always been taught that we are all in God's hands and I had faith enough to believe...Now the healing continues and the hard part it just now starting.. I thought the hard part was laying in bed for 10 weeks straight!!
These are 2 photos of the x-rays ~ I took them from the computer screen in the doctors office... The two pins in my hand were removed, the screw to the right near my thumb is permanent ~ I have 6 screws in my foot and a plate to replace the bone I lost when I fell...You can still see the hole in my heel where the rod went completely through my foot! I have a long way to go... the Titanium mesh plate that replaced my eye socket has healed just fine and I don't expect any other complications from that!
I have had a lump in my throat since yesterday afternoon... The visit to the Physical Therapist for the initial consultation was very overwhelming and although it was encouraging, it was depressing at the same time! I was not given much instruction from the doctors when I was discharged about a week after the accident soo I have been doing the best I can to get around and use my hand & foot as much as possible without hurting myself of course ~ I find out I have been doing alot of things the wrong way and hurting myself in the process ~ Mainly my knees and good right shoulder! That news was hard to take along with hearing that it will take at least 2 years before I wear normal shoes again... the circulation in my foot & hand is posing a problem as well as scar tissue that is inhibiting my complete healing sooo its back to work and harder than ever!! I am grateful to have my hand & foot still attached to my body, just knowing the work ahead is going to be daunting is hard to digest...I know I will make it through and in 2 years will be dancing with my stilettos on!! Thanks to my Guardian Angels I am here to tell the story of the miracle in my life and I am soo very happy to be alive!! Its the best feeling in the world even when the skies are gray ~ Its my miracle and I am FOREVER grateful ~ Thank you Grampa Ren & Grandma Doris for watching over me...

A New place for me :)

So, I now have a blog page, somewhere to call my own and a place for me to put down thoughts when I cannot write them down in a journal...I live alone without adult companionship so I needed a place to let it out so to speak!!

I have attached the photo of my sweetheart & I ~ this was taken just a few weeks ago while I visited him in Charlotte ~ I am lucky enough to be crazy in love at my age and its with my very first love ♥ We were high school sweethearts over 20 years ago and just reconnected a little over 5 months ago! We could not be happier and look forward to our very bright future together!

I recently had a very bad accidental fall ~ August 9, 2008 was D-day for me!! It could have been the day the lights went out but thankfully God still has plans for me yet! I am recovering very well, more rapidly than the doc's expected and hope to dance with my honey on New Years Eve! I got to put my toes in the sand at the beach this past weekend and it was such a thrill!! I Love the ocean and the surf, I feel so connected with the earth when I am at the oceans edge...

Back to work full time this week... much earlier than expected but I am not surprised at myself because I am soo determined and stubborn most all the time! I am blessed to have my children by my side and they are both a big help with the stuff I cannot do just yet... I washed dishes, did laundry and even made the bed for the first time in months this past weekend and was happy to do it :)

Every day I get to do something I was not able to do before so the victories are small but HUGE to me! I am grateful for all the prayers that went up for me and my family and blessed beyond measure to have friends and family who love and support me unconditionally!
